Grant that as the Baptist joyfully leapt to greet thy son hidden in His Blessed Mother's womb, we may rejoice to know His presence in the Blessed Sacrament 1
Here is a video of a 18 week old fetus moving about in the womb. This is a 4D sonogram. Imagine Saint John the Baptist dancing about in the womb of Saint Elizabeth
Watch this 8 week 4 day old fetus!
You'll notice heart clearly beating and then the baby wiggles! Amazing movement filmed at such a young age!
The Baptist leapt for joy in the womb of his mother! Two beautiful unborn children each at different developmental stages, yet mysteriously able to perceive each other's presence.
Week 3: By the end of third week the unborn child's backbone, spinal column, and nervous system are forming. The liver, kidneys, and intestines begin to take shape.
Week 4: By the end of week four the Unborn Christ became ten thousand times larger than he was at conception! All unborn babies grow that fast. You did too!
Week 5: During this week Jesus' eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop.
Week 6: Brain waves are detectable; mouth and lips are present;
fingernails are forming. Imagine,
God himself growing and developing in the womb of
His Holy Mother right beneath her Immaculate Heart!
When you were a fetus, your tiny eyes were fully developed by 20 weeks and you could open them around weeks 26-28. Jesus too. At first vision is a bit blurry, but eyes do react to light. Some moms try shining a flashlight on their belly, and feel their baby moving in response!
An unborn baby can actually taste what mom eats! Multiple studies have shown that throughout your pregnancy, a little one will taste certain foods since taste and smell travel through the amniotic fluid. While this does not harm your baby in any way- the interesting result is that a baby can develop certain food preferences based on what you eat during your pregnancy! Some women will switch up their diet during their pregnancy to introduce different tastes and smells to their baby. Imagine Mary and Jesus sharing all their meals even before He was born!
